We are delighted to announce an historic dance project here in the DC area -- the Isadora Duncan Dance Workshop Series. Presented by two area Duncan Dancers, Roberta Hoffman andValerie Durham, the workshop will boast a purity of Duncan technique, philosophy and dance that has not been yet seen in the DC area!
This workshop is perfect for professional dancers and teachers looking to deepen their understanding of Isadora Duncan and their own artistry, as well as for recreational dancers who are looking for a uniquely joyous experience.
Each three-hour workshop, based upon an important theme from the Duncan pedagogy, such as our first theme, the Art of Breath, will feature readings, therapeutic warm-up, traditional and contemporary Duncan exercises, barre, locomotive and combination work, segments of repertory, improvisation and partnering. And dancers are invited to stay for a complimentary discussion, video screening and sack lunch directly following the workshop.
We hope you will join us for this exciting workshop series! And please share this email with anyone you know who might enjoy this truly transformative experience in dance.
For more information and to reserve your space, contact Valerie Durham at (410)570-0535 or valerie@duncandancers.com or Roberta Hoffman at (301)624-2434 or hoffdance@aol.com.
